You will see that women have a never-ending stream of men using lame lines on them all day long.  Lines like…

  • “You have a beautiful smile.”
  • “Hi, how are you?”
  • “Can I buy you a drink?”
  • “What are you drinking?”
  • “Having a party tonight?”  (Overheard in a grocery checkout line.)
  • Insert your favorite line here.

Guys, when you use these lines, you are a department store clerk.

Imagine that you are in your favorite department store shopping for a new shirt for a night out.  The clerk comes up to you and says, “Hello, Sir.  May I help you?”

What do you say?

You say (just like everyone else says), “No, thanks.  I’m just looking.”

Right?

But why?

This is a programmed response that you learned over the years to “deal” with department store clerks.

The same process takes place whenever you answer a statement with a very stupid reply.  Let me explain…

I was in line to get a movie ticket last week, and the woman in the ticket booth handed the guy in front of me his ticket and said to him, “Enjoy your movie.”

The guy replied, “You too!”

“You too”?!?  Really?  You know that have done this!  Perhaps not standing at a ticket booth, but you have fallen into this trap at some point in your life.  It is a programmed response.

When you approach a woman with a lame line, she automatically gives you a programmed response as if you had just asked her, “May I help you?”

Well… No, you may not, Chump.  And this is how men make women the way they are.
